The Naked Truth
A Manifesto for the Living Spirit - Part VII
“God does not burden any soul with more than it can bear:
each gains whatever good it has done, and suffers its bad”
2:286
Beyond knowledge and beyond choice,
there is a deeper compass
placed within the human being —
a silent witness
that sees against all words.
The Qur’an calls us not only to think,
but to feel Truth when it passes near.
“Have they not traveled through the land,
so that they may have hearts
with which to understand?” 22:46
Intellect may perceive forms,
yet the Heart perceives Truth.
“For indeed, it is not the eyes that are blind,
but the hearts within the chests.” 22:46
Intuition is not instinct without reason —
it is the Divine impression upon the soul,
the echo of the first covenant,
the memory of meaning before language.
“Whenever your Lord takes out the offspring
from the loins of the Children of Adam,
He makes them bear witness about themselves:
‘Am I not your Lord?’— to which they reply:
‘Yes, we bear witness’!” 7:172
An honest heart recognizes Truth
no matter the leading path.
For guidance is not the reward of certainty,
but the fruit of sincerity.
“Verily! Those who are Muslims, Jews, Christians, and Sabians —
whoever believes in God [One source] and the Last Day [Accountability]
and do righteous good deeds —
shall have their reward with their Lord;
on them shall be no fear,
nor shall they grieve.” 2:62
Even when tongues err,
even when doctrines fracture,
the truthful heart is not abandoned.
The final word is Mercy —
and sincerity outweighs confusion.
For salvation is not granted to perfect belief,
but to honest return.
On the Day when all veils fall away,
nothing will avail;
neither lineage nor doctrine,
”except one who comes to Him —
with a Heart made whole!” 26:88
“When God says, ‘Jesus, son of Mary,
did you say to people, “Take me and my mother as two gods alongside God”?’
he will say, ‘May You be exalted! I would never say what I had no right to say-
if I had said such a thing You would have known it:
You know all that is within me, though I do not know what is within You,
You alone have full knowledge of things unseen-
I told them only what You commanded me to:
“Worship God, my Lord and your Lord.”
I was a witness over them during my time among them.
Ever since You took me, You alone have been the watcher over them:
You are witness to all things!
If You punish them, they are Your servants;
if You forgive them, You are the Almighty, the Wise.’
God will say:
This is the Day when the truthful benefit from their truthfulness..” 5:116
Let this be the measure:
that knowledge enlightens the mind,
freedom dignifies the will,
but it is the Heart —
awake, humble, and true —
that ultimately guides the soul home.
Salvation, if exists,
belongs to the sincere.
